NX can be used as a standalone room control system or expanded into a fully networked solution across an entire building. Wired, wireless and hybrid configurations can all be supported within the same platform, giving designers and engineers more options when working with new construction, renovation or retrofit projects.
From Room-Level Control to Building-Wide Management
At the room level, NX can manage occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, dimming, scheduling, wall controls and other common lighting-control requirements.
For larger applications, the system can be expanded using NX Area Controllers to organize and manage multiple spaces, zones and devices across a facility.
This allows the control strategy to grow with the project instead of forcing every application into the same configuration from the beginning.
Wired, Wireless or Both
One of the strengths of NX is the ability to work with both wired and wireless devices.
Wired room controllers use plug-and-play connections that can simplify installation and configuration. Wireless devices communicate through a mesh network and can be commissioned through the NX mobile app.
For projects where existing conditions make new control wiring difficult, wireless can provide a practical retrofit option. On larger or more complex projects, wired and wireless devices can also be combined within the same system.
Controls Integrated Into the Lighting Package
NX controls can also be integrated directly into many Current luminaires.
That can reduce the amount of field-installed control hardware and create a more coordinated approach between the lighting and control systems.
Rather than treating controls as a separate layer added after the fixtures are selected, the control strategy can become part of the lighting specification from the beginning.
